A registered teacher since 1991, I have experience teaching students from Reception to university with a variety of subjects. My roles include serving as a classroom teacher, a TRT, an SSO, an instructor at TAFE and a tutor of students; either one-to-one or in small groups.
Strengths include: literacy, numeracy, HASS and a marker of NAPLAN tests. Possessing a Bachelor of Special Education, I have worked extensively with students of all abilities, while modifying learning content to ensure it is commensurate with individual needs. In addition, I also have a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice, with emphasis on legal studies and youth welfare.
In order to be successful, my philosophy is that all students’ learning styles should be acknowledged and supported. As an educator, it is my role to encourage independence and risk-taking with learning. However, if reluctant, I serve as a facilitator; role-modelling explicit strategies before guiding students through tasks.
Regardless, providing constructive and immediate feedback is integral, so students are aware of their progress and to make modifications in their approach if necessary. This includes verbal cues or written comments so each student can assume more responsibility in becoming autonomous learners.
Bachelor of Teaching (Junior Primary), Bachelor of Education (Primary), Bachelor of Special Education, Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice.
About Me
I have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Development and 20+ years of classroom teaching experience in a range of educational settings through Private and Government schools. I am currently The JP STEM and ICT coordinator and specialist teacher at Edwardstown Primary school and Director and Operator of Learn With Bricks.
My Philosophy
I believe that children are naturally inquisitive leaners. They demonstrate an intrinsic ability to explore and make meaning of the world around them and apply their understanding to interact with their environment. It is up to us to facilitate experiences and opportunities for them to reach their potential. Through providing hands on, investigations and exploring opportunities, learning and understanding is achieved through creating, problem solving and applying their knowledge to explore further possibilities.
My Strengths
I have a passion for teaching, constructing and creating. I focus on building relationships with my students to understand how they learn best, recognise what knowledge and approaches they bring to our learning environment and identify how to build upon their developing understanding.
My name is Anthony De Ieso and I am married with 3 children. My oldest is Alexandra and she is 14 and my son Dion is 8. My wife’s name is Melissa. I am a qualified Primary teacher and have been teaching for 15 years. During my teaching I have taught students from a wide range of abilities, from those with disabilities to those who were gifted. In my time I have also privately tutored students from reception to Year 9. I have taught in a variety of Catholic school from rural to metropolitan Adelaide.
Education Philosophy
I believe children learn best when they are fully engaged and feel safe to make mistakes and learn from these. Children need to feel connected to their teacher which ensures that the teacher will get the best out of each student. I believe students are capable and it is the teacher’s role to assess their capabilities and develop their weaknesses. I believe students learn best when they have one on one or small group support.
Individual Strengths
I believe that I have a strength in diagnosing and assessing student’s numeracy and literacy capabilities and developing programs that will continue to allow the student to develop in a positive direction. I am very capable in using the Australian curriculum to ensure that students are meeting the outcomes for their particular age.
Sheree Wright is an Australian based artist residing in Adelaide. Practising since 1997, Wright graduated from Adelaide Central School of Art with a visual arts degree in 2018. Exhibiting all around Adelaide, Wright stayed relevant through her personal tutoring program and working as a residing artist with year 10 to 12 students at Immanuel College throughout her three year degree. Furthermore, her paintings have been featured in many exhibitions since 2001 and successful in several competitions, a finalist in the Fleurieu Water prize and Saatchi online, and Adelaide winner of the Clifton Art Prize.
Wright is dedicated to helping her students understand the concept of colour and tone, develop their drawing and painting techniques to advance them with their own art practises. Wright encourages a trial and error technique, allowing her students to develop problem-solving skills beyond their comfort zones, and evoke personal learning methods. Her students receive individualised attention to aid in their confidence and understanding of particular techniques. Wright values the personal nature each of her students owns and encourages them to dive deeper into their own personalities to birth their art.
